Safety equipment required. Overnight Friday in Bryan at Plaza Motel.

The cost is modest and its a great way to learn / do many of the "Geo-Arts".

No age limit. Full safety equipment required. Meet at 9 a.m.,
collect until 1 p.m. Approx 280 miles. Overnight Friday at
Days Inn, Alpena. Arranged by Central Michigan club.
CANCELLED: August 6-15 North Carolina and Kentucky:
Gem Mines in the Spruce Pine, NC area: Screen for Rubies, Sapphires, Garnets, Aquamarines, etc.,
at commercial mines (fee), on to Lucky Strike Gold Mine to pan. Collect on the return in the Irvine, KY creeks for Agate.
Ages 9 and above. 8 days; approx. 700 miles one way. Guided by Rance & Anne Westover.

Sept 2 – 5 (Labor Day weekend): Flint
Ridge, OH. This famous
Flint deposit
is noted for its array of colors and suitability for lapidary and knapping.
The Flint Ridge Lithographic Society hosts a large flint knapping even at
the Park this week, drawing master knappers from all over the country.
There is a museum across the street. Meet Roy Miller who will allow us to
collect pieces at his quarry . Fee collecting also at John Nethers farm.
Pick, shove, hammer, and chisel work if you mean business! Ages 9 and
