The MidWest Federation encompasses a region of 11 states and has about 120 different clubs.

A resource to help clubs develop youth programs that fit their needs. If a club already has a juniors program that works for them, then our goal is to support that program anyway we can.

This national organization works toward promoting and ensuring the rights of amateur hobby collectors, recreational prospecting, mining, and the use of public & private lands for educational and recreational purposes.

Rockhounding
New York:
We have received permission from Steven Chamberlain to share his book titled "New York State: A Topographic Mineralogy" on our website. The book provides a comprehensive list of known mineral occurrences and their locations across New York State. It's a free resource that can be accessed online only. Please note that this is a privately published book and must be read only in this format. However, readers are encouraged to use text, maps, and photographs from the book as long as proper credit is given. It's important to cite the sources used.

This is a nonfiction book that contains information from published literature, unpublished results from the authors' professional work, unpublished data from existing catalogs of mineral collections, and expert interpretation by the authors. Maps, sketches, and photographs are available for not-for-profit use, but please remember to give credit."
