The Tulip City Gem & Mineral Club is one of the 24 rock and mineral-related clubs in Michigan that pay member dues to the Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies. Michigan belongs to the Midwest Federation, which is one of the 12 states in the Midwest. The American Federation of Mineralogical Societies is divided into 7 regions, one of which is the MWF. This national organization offers two $4000 scholarships annually to each region. These scholarships are awarded to university Geology Majors who are pursuing advanced degrees.

Conglomerate is the Tulip City Gem and Mineral Club's newsletter. The Conglomerate is your local source for information regarding club schedule, upcoming speakers and field trips, educational and instructional classes, and all things club related.
AFMS stands for the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies. This organization provides a means for the communication with all hobby members and federations across the country. This provides an excellent opportunity for networking and exchanging information about collecting sites, areas of interest, museums, shops, expert advise, itineraries, rockhounding, meteorites, wire wrapping, geodes, lapidary arts, etc...
A place for juniors to have their voices heard. With their parent's permission juniors can submit their photos, articles, favorite rocks, etc... to contribute to the monthly newsletter.

The Midwest Federation Of Mineralogical and Geological Societies is a member of the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies. It encompasses a region of 12 states and has about 109 different clubs. The purpose of this federation is to promote interest and education in geology, mineralogy, paleontology, archaeology and lapidary, and to sponsor and provide means of coordinating the work and efforts of groups interested in these fields within the Midwest.
The American Lands Access Association is a national organization that works toward promoting and ensuring the rights of amateur hobby collectors, recreational prospecting, mining, and the use of public & private lands for educational and recreational purposes. Essentially, they fight for amateur collector's rights by lobbying, influencing legislation, and opposing policies that inhibit public use of lands.
